Jacksonville - Located along the scenic St. Johns River, Jacksonville is a thriving port town and one of the Southeast’s major cultural, commercial, industrial and financial centers located along the St. John's River. Jacksonville offers a wealth of attractions and recreational opportunities and its waterfront gives convenient access to boat cruises, riverfront boardwalks, fish camps, and offshore fishing. Golfers can hit the links on a number of premier courses, including The Players Championship Course. Other points of interest include: Jacksonville Landing, the Jacksonville Zoological Gardens; and Adventure Landing amusement park.

Jacksonville Maritime Museum Jacksonville

Jacksonville Maritime Museum JACKSONVILLE
Situated along the Southbank River Walk, this museum offers excellent displays publicizing the maritime history of Jacksonville and North Florida. In addition to an extensive collection of paintings, photos and artifacts, popular highlights include models of naval ships and an award-winning to-scale replica of the Titanic. The museum, licensed as a non-profit organization, first opened its doors to the public in 1985.

Established in 1985 as a non-profit organization (501-C-3) and maintained on a cash basis, partially funded by Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville, memberships and donations, and operated by volunteers.

We are on the South-bank of the St. Johns River in an ideal location
which is no longer large enough to house the artifacts and historical displays we currently own.

The Plan is to have a waterfront location of approximately 11,000 sq. ft. with dockage to accommodate visiting vessels. Jacksonville's extensive maritime history covers the French landing at Ft. Caroline to our current Naval installations.

There is NO ADMISSION CHARGE and we operate seven (7) days a week. Both school children and Senior Citizen groups as well as tourists from every state in the U. S. and many foreign countries visit the museum.

The Jacksonville Maritime Museum Society, Inc., an educational informative community service, is now asking for your contribution and hope that you will visit our museum.
